La Notte Magica della Befana - DarSaGiocattoli

The Magical Night of the Epiphany

Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in the snowy hills, there was an old woman named Befana. She wasn't just any old woman: she had a funny hat, a broom that sparkled in the moonlight, and a sack full of sweets and small gifts. Every year, on the night between January 5th and 6th, Befana flew from house to house to bring joy to all the children.

On that special night, a little girl named Emma couldn't sleep. "I wonder if the Befana will come to my house too," she whispered. Suddenly, a faint rustling sound could be heard on the roof, and the little girl saw a figure moving among the stars. It was the Befana, with her kind smile and cheerful eyes.

“Hi, Emma!” said Befana, silently climbing down from the window. “I heard you've been very good this year, and I brought something special for you.” From her sack she pulled out a small teddy bear, some sweets, and a colorful puzzle. Emma jumped for joy, but then asked timidly, “Befana, how do you manage to visit all the children in one night?”

The Befana laughed and explained: “I have a little secret: the magic of kindness makes my flight light and swift. And every smile I encounter makes my night even brighter.” Then, before disappearing among the stars, she left her a special piece of advice: “Remember, Emma, true magic is not just in gifts, but in every kind gesture you do for others.”

Emma snuggled up under the covers, her heart happy, watching the moon shine a little brighter that night. And as she closed her eyes, she dreamed of flying with the Befana among the stars, bringing sweets and smiles to all the children of the world.

The Befana is one of our culture's most beloved traditions, and every year, on the night between January 5th and 6th, adults and children alike eagerly await her arrival. According to legend, this charming old lady flies on a broomstick to deliver sweets and small gifts to good children, leaving coal for those who haven't behaved well. Despite her sometimes gruff appearance, the Befana is actually a bringer of joy and magic, capable of transforming Epiphany into a special moment for the whole family.

Today, in addition to sweets and the traditional coal, Befana also brings games and surprises that make children's eyes light up. Whether it's a teddy bear, a puzzle, a creative or educational game, every gift becomes a little treasure to be discovered. Putting together a stocking together, choosing what to put in it, and hanging it all on the fireplace or by the window is a fun ritual that brings the family together and makes the wait even more exciting.

At our toy shop , we want to make this holiday even more special: every year we select the most beautiful and fun toys to delight children of all ages, from toddlers to adults.
